A paid app with a one-time purchase, available only on the App Store. Check the storefront and app details before buying. Buying the app ≠ buying a service plan; using it to connect requires your own subscription or server details.

Storefront and account region

Shadowrocket is not available in the mainland China App Store. If you can’t find it, check the country or region linked to your Apple ID instead of repeatedly changing your search terms. The App Store storefront is mainly determined by the account used for Media & Purchases. Your device’s physical location, system language, and storefront region are separate settings. The link above opens the US App Store product page, but opening it won’t change your purchasing account or guarantee that your current account can complete a transaction.

Check the account used for purchases

On your device, go to Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region and follow any verification prompts. Note the region shown, then return to the App Store and check the product page. If you’ve used more than one personal account on the device, make sure to check the account under Media & Purchases instead of relying only on the name at the top of Settings. Your iCloud account and the account used for App Store purchases may differ. Confirming which account made the purchase can help you find it later.

To change your region, use the official settings under “Country/Region” as described above. Follow Apple’s current prompts to check whether you’re eligible, what account requirements apply, and how to enter payment details. Your account balance, active subscriptions, Family Sharing settings, or payment status may affect the process. Opening a product page for another storefront does not mean the change is complete. This page explains where to check; it cannot guarantee that you can change regions or determine your account status.

01 / Verify the app

Developer, official icon, and app ID

To identify Shadowrocket, check three details together. Shadowrocket is sometimes nicknamed “Little Rocket” in Chinese, but a nickname, search ranking, or similar-looking icon can’t confirm an app’s identity. Open the full product page, then check the developer name, official icon, and app ID in the URL. Confirm that all three match before purchasing. Search results may include apps with identical or similar names, so don’t decide based on a word in the title alone.

Developer
Shadow Launch Technology Limited
Official icon
White background with a blue-violet outlined rocket; it should match the official icon shown on this page.
App ID
932747118; the product page URL contains id932747118.

Verify the product, then compare the interface

The developer name is an important way to distinguish similar apps. If search results show only a shortened title, open the details page to check further; don’t mistake nearby search-result text for the developer name. Compare the icon with the official one on this page, paying attention to its white background and blue-violet outline—not just whether it contains a rocket. The app ID helps distinguish products with similar names or icons; check all of its digits.

The two screenshots beside this text are official App Store screenshots. The Home screen shows Not Connected, Global Routing, Connectivity Test, and the SERVER section. The Add Server screen shows fields for entering server details, as well as the Scan QR Code and Import from Cloud JSON options. These images show the app layout; they don’t mean a server has been imported on your device or that the settings shown match your setup.

Some details in App Store screenshots may differ from what you see on your device. Follow the English labels in the app when navigating. For verification, focus on the developer, icon, and app ID rather than treating the position of a particular setting as definitive. Once you’ve confirmed the app, import your own details; don’t copy addresses, passwords, or other connection parameters from the screenshots. Continue with the Getting Started guide for the steps to take after opening the app for the first time.

02 / iPhone

Get Shadowrocket on iPhone and open it for the first time

On your iPhone, open the product page using the App Store link on this page. Check the three identifying details, price, and compatibility, then make the purchase with your Apple ID. See the App Store listing for system requirements. Don’t assume compatibility based only on your device model or age; check the App Store compatibility section and whether your current system meets the requirements. If the product page offers a redownload, check for an existing purchase before looking for another way to buy the app.

Buying the app doesn’t mean you’re connected

After installation, open Shadowrocket and start with Home. Not Connected means no connection is currently established. Global Routing lets you choose how traffic is handled overall. Connectivity Test checks whether your existing servers are reachable. The SERVER section lets you view and select existing entries. These in-app steps are separate from your App Store payment status. If no server entries appear when you first open the app, prepare your own subscription or server details and follow the Getting Started guide to import them.

The first time you try to connect, the system may ask to add a VPN configuration. Confirm that the request comes from Shadowrocket, which you just opened, then follow the system prompts and authenticate on your device. This adds the system configuration needed to connect; it isn’t another app purchase. After granting permission, return to Home and check that the correct server and Global Routing settings are selected. System authorization alone doesn’t confirm that you can access the services you need.

If a download is stuck on Waiting, check your network, available storage, and any account message shown by the App Store. If the app opens but won’t connect, check your own settings, subscription status, and device network. Checking App Store acquisition, system authorization, and in-app connectivity separately helps avoid repeating steps in the wrong place. See the First Open and Connection Guide for detailed steps, and the Subscription and Server Management Manual for organizing your existing details.

03 / iPad

iPad and other devices on the same storefront

A single purchase with the same Apple ID lets you get Shadowrocket on both iPhone and iPad. If you bought it on iPhone, first check the purchasing account in the App Store on your iPad, then look under Purchased. Don’t assume both devices use the same App Store account just because they have the same device name, wallpaper, or iCloud-synced content. If the listing still shows a price, pause and check which account made the original purchase and confirm the product details.

The iPad’s screen differs from the iPhone’s, so layouts and the amount of visible content may vary between portrait and landscape orientations. English interface labels such as Home, Config, Data, and Settings are still the best way to find features. Follow the labels in the guide rather than searching for controls at exactly the same screen coordinates as in phone screenshots. The first connection also requires responding to the system’s VPN configuration request. See the App Store listing for system requirements and whether universal purchase applies.

Check purchase eligibility and connection details separately

Getting the app on another device doesn’t automatically transfer subscriptions, servers, or configurations from your original device. After installation, check the app’s actual contents and import the details you saved. If you’ve manually changed server names or configurations, make sure the new device has all the entries you need. Don’t assume the new device has the same current setup as the old one. After importing, test the connection separately on the new device’s network.

04 / Restore purchases

New devices, reinstalls, and purchase history

When you get a new device or reinstall the app, sign in to the App Store with the Apple ID used for the original purchase. Then go to App Store → Account → Purchased, find Shadowrocket, and download it again. You usually won’t need to pay again. The wording or location of the Purchased list may vary across system versions, so follow what appears on your account page. Restoring purchase eligibility depends on the original account and app—not whether you still have your old device or what server details you entered before.

Restore from your purchase history before paying again

  1. Check the Apple ID under Media & Purchases and confirm it’s the account used for the original transaction.
  2. Look for Shadowrocket under Purchased and, if needed, check your purchase history to confirm the original transaction.
  3. Open the product details and check the developer and app ID to avoid a different listing with a similar name.
  4. After redownloading, open the app and check for existing data, then add your own subscriptions, servers, and configurations as needed.

If the product page still shows a price or Shadowrocket isn’t in your Purchased list, first check your account, purchase history, and the current App Store message. Don’t repeatedly confirm payment. Hidden purchases, a change in account region, or using a different purchasing account can all affect what you find. To investigate further, use the App Store account and purchase history options on your device. Connection switches in the app can’t restore purchase eligibility.

Getting the app again and restoring its in-app data are separate things. Your purchase history doesn’t automatically save every detail you entered manually. Before changing devices, save your own subscriptions, server settings, and any configurations you need. After installing the app on the new device, import them as needed. Subscription links, passwords, and QR codes may contain credentials; don’t put them in public notes or screenshots. If you need to share a screenshot for support, hide your account details and full credentials first.

To check whether Family Sharing applies, review the App Store listing and your current family settings. Don’t confuse restoring a purchase with the same Apple ID with another family member’s purchase eligibility. After restoring the app, check your SERVER entries and Config contents before testing the connection. Keep your old device until you’ve confirmed everything is available on the new one; this makes it easier to spot missing details before you need to retrieve them.

05 / Price and one-time purchase

One-time app purchase and service boundaries

Shadowrocket is a paid commercial app. The US App Store price is $2.99 as a one-time purchase; see the App Store listing for the current price. Other storefronts show prices in local currency. Before paying, check the price and confirmation screen in your current storefront rather than assuming an amount shown in another region is your local total. The US dollar price here refers to the US storefront and may differ from the amount shown when you confirm your transaction.

A one-time purchase means you don’t pay a monthly fee to use the app. Purchases and app updates are handled through the App Store. You can enable automatic updates in your device settings or check for available updates on your App Store account page. Purchase status, update status, and server connectivity are separate; a connection test can’t confirm whether you’ve purchased the app.

What you get when you buy the app

Your purchase gives you access to Shadowrocket through the App Store. The app lets you import and manage your existing details, select servers, use Config and rules to handle traffic, and diagnose connections. If a subscription won’t import, server credentials have expired, or a server is unreachable, troubleshoot that specific issue; it doesn’t mean you need to buy the app again. Likewise, successfully installing the app doesn’t prove that your server details are complete or valid.

Before you start, check three things separately: the app was obtained correctly from the App Store, your device has allowed the required VPN configuration, and your own server or subscription details are usable. When troubleshooting, say which step you’re stuck on instead of simply saying “the download doesn’t work.” For purchase history, check the App Store; for app navigation, see the Getting Started guide; for importing and updating, see Choosing Servers; for other common issues, see Troubleshooting.

06 / Purchase FAQ

Common questions about downloads, devices, and restoring purchases

Why can’t I find Shadowrocket on the App Store?

Shadowrocket is not available in the mainland China App Store. Your Apple ID country or region determines which storefront you see. Check your account under Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region, then visit the App Store product page linked here. Availability for purchase depends on what the listing shows.

I can see the product page, but can’t download the app. What should I check first?

Read the message shown by the App Store, then check your account region, payment status, available device storage, and network connection. See the App Store listing for system requirements. If you’ve been charged, check your purchase history and the account used before trying to buy again.

Do I have to pay again when I get a new device or reinstall Shadowrocket?

Sign in with the Apple ID used for the original purchase. In the App Store, go to Account → Purchased, find Shadowrocket, and download it again. You usually won’t need to pay again. Purchase eligibility and in-app data are separate; after reinstalling, you’ll still need to import your own subscription or server details.

I bought Shadowrocket on iPhone. Can I install it on iPad too?

Yes. A single purchase with the same Apple ID lets you get Shadowrocket on both iPhone and iPad. On your iPad, check the purchasing account and look under Purchased. See the App Store listing for system requirements and whether universal purchase applies.

Where can I get Shadowrocket for Mac, Apple TV, or Apple Vision?

Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision are listed in the compatibility section of the same App Store product page. Get the app through the App Store; see the listing for device support, system requirements, and whether universal purchase applies.

The app opens in English for the first time. Where should I start?

Start by learning the Home screen, Global Routing, Connectivity Test, and Add Server. The official screenshots on this page can help you identify the interface. If you already have subscription or server details, continue with the Getting Started guide to import them step by step and review the system’s VPN configuration request the first time you connect.
